Self-Liquidating Offers (SLO)

Why Should Every Information Marketer Build One...

Before I define this, I need to put a disclaimer:

The following statement could be perceived as an earnings claim, but it’s not, you’ll see what I mean.

This below is the definition of a Self-Liquidating Offer as per Google’s AI search:

Designed To Cover Ad Spend, BUT NO GUARANTEES. That’s The Goal Of An SLO. When I Spent $1M A Month On Ads, I Got Back 50%-70% And Was Still Excited.

The reason? Why did even 50% of my ad spend recovery excite me?

Because I was getting BUYING customers that were going to continue buying and upgrade to my higher ticket offers.

(ANY DAY)

So, over the years of scaling my company, I developed a simple formula that is undeniable. If you want to scale an Information Product, this is (in my opinion), the only way.

You have to start thinking about your offers in FUNCTIONS.

Each offer serves a FUNCTION.

All 4 functions are required or else scale becomes incredibly hard and you start to burn out.

OFFER FUNCTION #1

Acquisition: To Get Cold Traffic Buyers

This is the offer you use to go wide. This is something that allows you to enter cold markets and bring them into your ecosystem. It’s an easy “yes.” This offer is the one that allows new people to experience you.

This offer builds your audience and if you’re not constantly building an audience, you’re just setting up to eventually burn out and fold.

This can be:

  • Low Ticket (which I love)

  • Free Webinar (which I love)

  • Book a Call Funnel (I don’t love so much)

For the purposes of THIS challenge, we’ll discuss each but focus on the low-ticket.

OFFER FUNCTION #2

Liquidation: To Cover Your Ad Costs

Now, if you’re spending on paid traffic to drive traffic (which you must), you’re pouring out hundreds or thousands of dollars a day. You can’t go long at that rate without going broke. Hence, you need to “liquidate” your ad spend.

Liquidation is the first, second or third (or all) offers the customer sees that helps you recover your ad spend. The better you do here, the faster you can scale.

We focus a lot during this challenge on Liquidation.

OFFER FUNCTION #3

Backend: To Create Profit

As much as I love doing paid traffic, what’s the point if there’s no chance for profit involved?

The goal of the Backend is to provide an ascension (ladder) through which a certain percentage of your customers will upgrade with you.

They’ll invest in Higher Ticket Products.

They’ll Invest in Coaching.

They’ll invest in your Consulting.

They’ll invest in your Mastermind.

Recurring: To Create Stability

Stability.

As your business grows, so do your expenses. Now, the issue is that your expenses become fixed, they’re not variable. Whereas many times revenue is.

The biggest stress in an Entrepreneur’s life is at the start the month and having to chase their expenses.

Hence, as a business grows, you need to add recurring to build stability and make sure your recurring revenue is covering your expenses.

Combined. These 4 functions are what allow scale.  But, as you saw, it all starts with a self-liquidating offer!
